31 Days of Halloween: Aurora Models

When I was a kid, kids made model kits. You know, those plastic model kits that were either snapped or glued together, and maybe painted. There were cars, and planes, and tanks, and... monsters.

I remember asking my dad to read me the Aurora model catalog, and when he got to "the forgotten prisoner of Castle L'amere", which was at the end, he'd always do it in a scary voice. :-)

Also, my only memory of our cruise around the Caribbean was one shore visit where we went into a toy store and I got the Godzilla model. With the glow-in-the-dark head. I was in heaven.

Naturally, they advertised in horror comics like Creepy and Eerie.
